Colin White (rugby Union)
Colin White (31 March 1947 - 19 January 2011) was an English rugby union international. Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, White was a prop with local club Gosforth RFC, where he played in two John Player Cup title wins and served as club captain. While working as tree surgeon in 1978, he lost three fingers on his right hand in a chainsaw accident, but was able to continue his career. He gained an England in 1983, debuting in a win over the All Blacks at home, then was capped a further three times in the 1984 Five Nations Championship. Newcastle Falcons
Newcastle Falcons is a rugby union team that play in Premiership Rugby, England's highest division of rugby union. The club was established in 1877 as the Gosforth Football Club. Around 1882 the club merged with the Northumberland Football Club and briefly assumed their name until 1887. In 1990, the name was changed to Newcastle Gosforth and the club began to play at Kingston Park stadium in Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. In 1996, following the start of professionalism the club briefly adopted the name Newcastle Rugby Club before adopting its current name. Newcastle has won 5 major titles. The England national rugby union team represents England in men's international rugby union. They compete in the annual Six Nations Championship with France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. England have won the championship on 29 occasions (as well as sharing 10 victories) – winning the Grand Slam 13 times and the Triple Crown 26 times – making them the most successful outright winners in the tournament's history. The 1984 Five Nations Championship was the fifty-fifth series of the rugby union Five Nations Championship. Including the previous incarnations as the Home Nations and Five Nations, this was the ninetieth series of the northern hemisphere rugby union championship.
