Colin Thompson (racing Driver)
Colin Thompson (born February 17, 1994) is an American racing driver. After a career in single seaters, Thompson won the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Platinum Class in 2014 and the Pirelli World Challenge GT Cup in 2015. He is the son of 1989 American Racing Series driver John Thompson. He has been engaged to Norwegian heiress Alexandra Andresen since January 2023. Racing career Thompson started racing in quarter midgets at age five at his local Oaklane Speedway in Trumbauersville, Pennsylvania. In 2008 the young driver won the Quarter Midget Association World Formula championship. After graduating the Skip Barber Racing School in 2009 Thompson raced in the Formula Skip Barber and Bertil Roos Racing Series. In the Bertil Roos Racing Series Thompson won his first race at New Jersey Motorsports Park. For 2010 Thompson was selected as the youngest driver to compete in the Volkswagen Jetta TDI Cup. Doylestown is a borough and the county seat of Bucks County in Pennsylvania, United States. Skip Barber Racing School
The Skip Barber Racing School is an American racing and driving school. Skip Barber founded the school in 1975. History In 1975, Skip Barber started the Skip Barber School of High Performance Driving at Riverside International Raceway. In 1976, it was renamed the Skip Barber Racing School. Despite selling the school in 1999, Barber remains active in motorsports today as the owner of Lime Rock Park. On May 22, 2017, the school filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The Porsche Supercup (officially known as Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, known as Porsche Michelin Supercup prior to 2007) is an international one-make sports car racing series supporting the FIA Formula One World Championship organized by Porsche Motorsport GmbH. Porsche Supercup drivers compete in identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars. On average, 24 race cars take part in each race. Road Atlanta (known for sponsorship reasons as Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta) is a road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, United States. The facility is utilized for a wide variety of events, including professional and amateur sports car and motorcycle races, racing and driving schools, corporate programs and testing for motorsports teams. The track has 12 turns, including the famous " esses" between turns three and five; and Turn 12, a downhill, diving turn. Belardi Auto Racing was an American racing team in the Indy Lights series. The team was owned by Brian Belardi, who competed in SCCA. Belardi was previously located in Illinois before moving to Brownsburg, Indiana. Indy Lights 2011-2013 Jorge Goncalvez, Anders Krohn, and Jacob Wilson drove for the team during the 2011 Indy Lights season. Alon Day joined the team for the 2012 Indy Lights season and became the first racer from Israel in the United States. The Team USA Scholarship is a scholarship program which allows young American racecar drivers to compete outside of the United States. Each year, a competition is used to select the best young racecar drivers in the United States, then they are entered in highly competitive automobile racing events in an international racing environment (typically in Europe). Lime Rock Park
Lime Rock Park is a natural-terrain motorsport road racing venue located in Lakeville, Connecticut, United States, a hamlet in the town of Salisbury, in the state's northwest corner. Built in 1956, it is the nation's third oldest continuously operating road racing venue, behind Road America (1955) and Willow Springs International Motorsports Park (1953). Watkins Glen International, nicknamed "The Glen", is an automobile race track located in the town of Dix just southwest of the village of Watkins Glen, New York, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. It was long known around the world as the home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for twenty consecutive years (1961–1980).
