Colin Sullivan (physician)
Colin Sullivan is an Australian physician, professor, and inventor known for his invention of the nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) circuit, made of continuous flow machine and vented nasal mask, in June 1980. Sullivan’s development of the nasal CPAP was a product of his long-term interest in the upper respiratory airway and its role in SIDS (aka crib death or cot death). Prior to the invention of the nasal CPAP machine sleep apnea was often treated with radical measures such as tracheotomy. Colin Sullivan (footballer)
Colin Sullivan (born 24 June 1951) is an English former association football, footballer who played at Defender (association football), left back for most of his career. At the time of his debut he was the youngest to play for Plymouth Argyle. As of 2013 he runs a gardening business. He began his career at Plymouth Argyle F.C., Plymouth Argyle, training with the amateur players on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and made his debut away to Rotherham United F.C., Rotherham United on 19 March 1968, three months before his seventeenth birthday. He remained with the club until June 1974 when he was transferred to Norwich City F.C., Norwich City for £70,000, making his debut for the club on 17 August 1974 against Blackpool F.C., Blackpool.
