Colin Smith (ice Hockey)
Colin Smith (born June 20, 1993) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Smith played in the National Hockey League (NHL) and was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the 7th round (192nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career As a youth, Smith played in the 2006 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Edmonton Oilers minor ice hockey team. Junior Smith, played midget originally with CAC Edmonton Canadians of the Alberta Midget Hockey League. In the 2008–09 season Smith joined the Western Hockey League after he was drafted 7th overall in the WHL Bantam draft in 2008 by the Kamloops Blazers. As a centre with average size, Smith developed a high hockey sense in his four-year outstanding career. Lake Erie Monsters
The Cleveland Monsters are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL). The team began play in 2007 as the Lake Erie Monsters and since 2015 has served as the top affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Minor Ice Hockey
Minor hockey is an umbrella term for amateur ice hockey which is played below the junior age level. Players are classified by age, with each age group playing in its own league. The rules, especially as it relates to body contact, vary from class to class. In North America, the rules are governed by the national bodies, Hockey Canada and USA Hockey, while local hockey associations administer players and leagues for their region. Many provinces and states organize regional and provincial championship tournaments, and the highest age groups in Canada and USA also participate in national championships. The Abbotsford Heat were a professional ice hockey team that played five seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) between 2009 and 2014. The team was based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada, and played its home games at the 7,046-seat Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. The 2013–14 AHL season was the 78th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 4, 2013, and ended on April 19, 2014. The 2014 Calder Cup playoffs followed the conclusion of the regular season. The Calder Cup was won by the Texas Stars for their first Calder Cup in franchise history. The Portland Winterhawks are a junior ice hockey team based in Portland, Oregon, playing in the Western Hockey League (WHL), one of three leagues making up the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Ray Macias
Raymond Jonathan Macias (born September 18, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Colorado Avalanche. Playing career Macias was drafted 124th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Colorado Avalanche from the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League. After his final year with the Blazers, Macias was signed by the Avalanche to a three-year, entry level contract on April 11, 2007. Macias made his professional debut in the 2007–08 season, with the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL. Upon the end of the season he was sent to junior affiliate, the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL, for their playoff run. Kamloops Blazers
The Kamloops Blazers are a junior ice hockey team in the Western Hockey League (WHL). The team plays in the B.C. Division of the Western Conference, is based out of Kamloops, British Columbia, and play home games at Sandman Centre.
