Colin Robertson (fur Trader)
Colin Robertson (July 27, 1783 – February 4, 1842) was an early Canadian fur trader and political figure. History He was born in Perth, Scotland in 1783. He originally apprenticed in Scotland as a hand weaver but later travelled to New York City where he found work in a grocery store. By 1803, he had joined the North West Company, leaving it in 1809. Robertson then travelled to England, where he became a merchant at Liverpool. In 1814, he returned to Canada in the employ of the Hudson's Bay Company, leading an expedition reestablish the company in the area around Lake Athabasca. Robertson stopped in Manitoba to rebuild Fort Douglas, which had been burnt down by the North West Company. In the meantime, John Clarke continued on to the Athabaska region with the remainder of the expedition but was eventually taken prisoner by the North West Company. He was a crew member on the ''Mouchette'' which finished second of two teams competing in the Sailing at the 1908 Summer Olympics – 12 metre class, 12 metre class. At the time, only the helmsman and mate were awarded silver medals, while the crew received bronze medals. Colin Robertson (born November 27, 1954) is a Canadian former diplomat and a commentator on international affairs specializing in Canada-United States relations. Education Robertson was born in 1954 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors (First Class) from the University of Manitoba and then went on to complete his Masters in International Affairs at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Colin Robertson (born 19 June 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. A hard running player, Robertson was a versatile footballer who could play across half back, on wing or on the ball. Robertson spent six seasons with Tasmanian club Wynyard, playing in premierships with the club in 1975 and 1979 before joining Hawthorn the following season. Robertson became a key part of the club's dominance during the early 1980s. In the 1983 VFL Grand Final he became the first Tasmanian to win the Norm Smith Medal after a superb tagging job on Essendon's dangerous rover Tim Watson. In 1987 Robertson returned to Tasmania to captain the Burnie Hawks in the Tasmanian State League for three seasons. In the last season he was Captain-Coach. Colin Robertson, known as Millennial Woes or simply Woes, is a Scottish former YouTuber, white supremacist, and antisemitic conspiracy theorist. According to anti-racism and anti-fascism research group Hope Not Hate, Robertson is known for supporting slavery, and has called for the bombing of refugees crossing the Mediterranean.
