Robert Colin Green (born 10 February 1942) is a Welsh former footballer born in Brymbo, near Wrexham, who made 201 appearances in the Football League playing as a full back for Everton, Birmingham City and Wrexham. He played most of his professional club football for Birmingham City and was part of the team which won the League Cup in 1963. At international level he won 15 caps for Wales. Brymbo
Brymbo is a village and Community (Wales), community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It lies in the hilly country to the west of Wrexham city, largely surrounded by farmland. At the United Kingdom Census 2001, 2001 Census, the population of the community area (including Brymbo village, along with the villages of Tanyfron and Bwlchgwyn and a number of rural hamlets) was 3,482, increasing to 4,836 at the 2011 Census. Brymbo is also the name of an electoral Ward (country subdivision), ward of Wrexham County Borough, whose population (including Brymbo and Tanyfron only) was 2,653 at the 2001 census, increasing to 3,981 at the 2011 Census. The 1963 Football League Cup Final, the third to be staged since the competition's inception, was contested between local rivals Birmingham City and Aston Villa over two legs. Aston Villa had won the inaugural competition in 1960–61, and had beaten Birmingham 4–0 in their most recent League meeting, while Birmingham were seeking to win their first major trophy. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football.
