Colin Fraser (Australian Politician)
Colin Alexander Fraser (died 27 November 1877) was an Australian politician. He was a pastoralist with properties at Byron Bay and Inverell. In 1869 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Tenterfield, serving until his defeat in 1872. He died at Edinburgh in Scotland in 1877. Byron Bay, New South Wales
Byron Bay ( Minjungbal: ''Cavvanbah)'' is a beachside town located in the far-northeastern corner of the state of New South Wales, Australia on Bundjalung Country. It is located north of Sydney and south of Brisbane. Cape Byron, a headland adjacent to the town, is the easternmost point of mainland Australia. At the 2021 census, the town had a permanent population of 6,330. It is the largest town of Byron Shire, though not the shire's administrative centre (which is Mullumbimby). Inverell is a large town in northern New South Wales, Australia, situated on the Macintyre River, close to the Queensland border. It is also the centre of Inverell Shire. Inverell is located on the Gwydir Highway on the western slopes of the Northern Tablelands. It has a temperate climate. History Prior to white settlement, the Gamilaraay Nation (commonly known as Kamilaroi) of Aboriginal peoples lived in and occupied this region. In 1848, Alexander Campbell held the Inverell Station on the Macintyre River. The name derives from the name of Mr. MacIntyre's estate. The New South Wales Legislative Assembly is the lower of the two houses of the Parliament of New South Wales, an Australian state. The upper house is the New South Wales Legislative Council. Both the Assembly and Council sit at Parliament House in the state capital, Sydney. The Assembly is presided over by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
