Colin Delport
Colin Delport (born 4 August 1978) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer. He played fifteen first-class matches between 1999 and 2004. Biography Delport, originally from Kadoma and Chegutu in Zimbabwe, was introduced to cricket by his father, who had previously played for the Rhodesian Schools team. He attended Lomagundi College where he began playing cricket at six, primarily as a batsman and fielder, eventually securing a spot in the school's Colts team in Grade 3 and the first team from Grade 5. By accident, Delport turned to wicket-keeping at 13, enjoyed it, and showed proficiency in the role. Throughout high school, he represented Mashonaland Country Districts as a wicket-keeper at the Under-19 level, and posted a personal high score of 91. He also played rugby and hockey, but his primary focus was cricket. Kadoma, Zimbabwe
Kadoma, formerly known as Gatooma, is a town in Zimbabwe. Location The city is located in Kadoma District, Mashonaland West Province, one of the 10 administrative provinces in Zimbabwe. This location lies approximately , by road, southwest of Harare, the national capital and largest city in the country. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Chegutu
Chegutu (formerly Hartley) is a town in Mashonaland West Province, Zimbabwe. Location The town is located in Chegutu District, Mashonaland West, in central northern Zimbabwe. It lies in the Hartley Hills , southwest of the capital Harare at an altitude of above sea level. Population The 1982 population census recorded 19,621 inhabitants, rising to 30,122 by 1992. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
