Cole Turner (American Football)
Nicolas "Cole" Turner (born March 16, 2000) is an American football tight end for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Nevada as a wide receiver before switching to tight end as a senior and was selected by the Commanders in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. High school and college Turner was born on March 16, 2000, in Clackamas, Oregon. He attended Clackamas High School, where he was a two-sport athlete in football and basketball. He helped lead his football team to three consecutive conference titles and a state championship in 2017. He led the state of Oregon in receiving as a senior in 2017 with 76 receptions for 1,325 yards and 20 touchdowns, earning him all-state honors. Turner enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018 and appeared in 12 games as a freshman for the Nevada Wolf Pack football team as a wide receiver. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. 2022 NFL Draft
The 2022 NFL Draft was the 87th edition of the National Football League's annual draft and was held from April 28–30, 2022, at the Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The first round was held on Thursday, April 28, and was followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on Saturday, April 30. It was the first draft to be held in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The first five selections were defensive players, the second-most taken at the start of a draft after the six in 1991. Along with the 1972 and 2000 drafts, it marked the third time defensive players were the first two picks after the first three picks in the previous year's draft were quarterbacks. The 2022 Senior Bowl was a college football all-star game played on February 5, 2022, at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. Brock Bowers
Brock Allen Bowers (born December 13, 2002) is an American football tight end for the Georgia Bulldogs. Bowers had a decorated high school career at Napa High School in Napa, California and was named to the All-American Bowl as a senior. A four star prospect coming out of high school, he was heavily recruited by major college programs, ultimately deciding to play at the University of Georgia under head coach Kirby Smart. Bowers made an immediate impact in his first season with the Bulldogs, setting a program record for single-season receiving touchdowns and being named the 2021 SEC Freshman of the Year.
