According to Parlophone, their first eight albums have sold a combined total of 100 million copies worldwide as of May 2021, making them the most successful band of the 21st century and one of the best-selling artists of all time. They are also the act with most number-one albums in the United Kingdom without ever missing the top and achieved 10 million-selling singles in the country. ''The Blue Room'' is the second EP released by British Rock music, rock band Coldplay and their first after signing with Parlophone in October 1999. Background The version of "Don't Panic" featured on this release and produced by Chris Allison is different from the one that appears on the band's later debut LP, ''Parachutes (Coldplay album), Parachutes''. "Speed of Sound" is a song by British rock band Coldplay. It was written by all members of the band for their third studio album, '' X&Y'' (2005). Constructed around a piano and guitar riff, the song builds into a huge, synthesiser-heavy chorus. It was released by Parlophone Records as the lead single from the album. "Speed of Sound" made its radio premiere on BBC Radio 1 with Lamacq on 19 April, then was serviced to US radio on 25 April 2005.
