Colchester United F.C. Under-21s And Academy
Colchester United Football Club Under-23s are the under-23 team of Colchester United Football Club. They play in the South Division of the Professional U21 Development League 2, the second tier of reserve football in England. The team mostly consists of the club's under-23 players, although senior players have occasionally made appearances for the side, for instance, during recovery from injury. The team are coached by Richard Hall. Colchester United Football Club Academy are the youth team of Colchester United Football Club. They play in the South Division of the Professional U18 Development League 2, the second tier of youth football in England. The team are coached by Liam Bailey. The under-23 team play their home games at either the Colchester Community Stadium or the club's training ground, Florence Park in Tiptree. Shamal Tyrell George (born 6 January 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Scottish Premiership side Livingston. Alexander Scott Gilbey (born 9 December 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Stevenage on loan from League One club Charlton Athletic. Charley Joseph Edge (born 14 May 1997) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a winger for Cymru North club Gresford Athletic. Edge joined the Colchester United Academy from Everton in 2015 after completing his two-year scholarship. He had previously been on the books of Swansea City and Stoke City. Louis Anthony Dunne (born 7 September 1998) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder, for Hayes & Yeading United, on loan from National League South club Chelmsford City. Dunne is the son of former Colchester United player and manager Joe Dunne and began his career at the same club at the age of eight, progressing through the club's Academy.
