''Cofralandes, Chilean Rhapsody'' ( es, Cofralandes, rapsodia chilena) is an experimental four-part 2002 Franco-Chilean digital video series written and directed by Raúl Ruiz for the Chilean Ministry of Education. The first part won the Glauber Rocha Award for the Best Film from Latin America and a FIPRESCI Award at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2002 "for the director's personal exploration into his homeland, using DV in a rigorous yet playful manner". Jorge Arriagada
Jorge Arriagada (born 1943) is a Chilean film composer. He is perhaps best known for his long-term collaboration with director Raúl Ruiz (director), Raúl Ruiz. He has also worked with directors Patricio Guzman, Barbet Schroeder and Olivier Assayas. Biography Jorge Arriagada was born on August 20, 1943 in Santiago, Chile, Santiago. He studied composition and orchestral conduction at the National Conservatory of Music in Santiago. He then obtained a scholarship from the French government that enabled him to study expressionism with Max Deutsch, who was Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg's friend and student. He also studied composition with Olivier Messiaen and orchestral conduction with Pierre Boulez. Néstor Igor Cantillana (born July 19, 1975 in Santiago, Chile, Santiago) is a Chilean actor in theater, movies and TV. Life and career Cantillana's grandmother was a communist and later she practiced the evangelic religion and he grew up under that doctrine until 12 years old in Curicó. Ángel Parra (singer-songwriter)
Luis Ángel Cereceda Parra, known as Ángel Parra (27 June 1943 – 11 March 2017), was a Chilean singer and songwriter, son of Violeta Parra and Luis Cereceda Arenas, brother of Isabel Parra. His main civil surname was Cereceda, but he performed under his maternal surname Parra. He traveled abroad helping to maintain the Nueva Canción tradition in Chilean expatriate communities in Europe, North America, and Australia. His son Ángel Cereceda Orrego, also known as Ángel Parra, was the lead guitarist for the band Los Tres. Parra died of lung cancer in Paris, France, on 11 March 2017, aged 73. Isabel Parra
Violeta Isabel Cereceda Parra (born 29 September 1939), better known as Isabel Parra, is a famous Chilean singer-songwriter and interpreter of Latin American musical folklore. Early years Parra was born in Chile in 1939 and began her career in music at the age of 13 when she made her first recording with her world-renowned mother, the folklorist Violeta Parra. She has since interpreted and recorded the songs of some of the most famous Latin American folk singers.
