Wilbur Franklyn Coen Jr (known also as Junior Coen, 23 December 1911 – 5 February 1998) was an American tennis player. In 1928, at age , he became the youngest tennis player to ever represent the United States in the Davis Cup, and the youngest player to ever compete in a Davis Cup match, both records he still holds. Coen also competed at Wimbledon in 1928 and 29, twice reaching the third round. In The French Championships he reached the fourth round in 1929 and 1930, and in the US Championships he reached the fourth round in 1929. Coen was mentored by Bill Tilden. Stanley Keppel "Shunter" Coen (14 October 1902 – 28 January 1967) was a South African cricketer who played in two Test matches in 1927–28. He was born in Heilbron, Orange Free State, and died in Durban, Natal. First-class cricket Coen was a right-handed middle-order or opening batsman and a right-arm occasional bowler, Coen had a long career in South African domestic cricket from 1921–22 to 1938–39, but made a particular impact in only two seasons. Across the 1920s, Coen's first-class cricket was for Orange Free State, usually one of the weaker South African domestic sides; he did little for them in his first three seasons, but in 1924–25, he made 60 in the match against an even weaker Griqualand West team. Séamus Coen
Séamus Coen (born 1 February 1958) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a left wing-back for the Galway senior team. Born in Mullagh, County Galway, Coen first played competitive hurling in his youth. After first joining the Galway under-21 team, he made his senior debut during the 1979 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. Coen went on to win one All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship medal and one National Hurling League medal with Galway. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Connacht inter-provincial team at various times throughout his career, Coen won two Railway Cup medal. At club level he played with Mullagh. Throughout his career Coen made 13 championship appearances for Galway. His retirement came following the conclusion of the 1986 championship. Martin Coen
Rev. Martin Coen was an Irish priest and historian (6 October 1933 – 2 December 1997). Coen was a grandnephew of Fr. Thomas Cawley (1878–1949) and a great-grandnephew of Fr. Edward Holland, O.D.C. (1838–1918). Born at Raheen House, Gort, to Thomas Coen and Mary Holland, he was educated at Kiltartan national school and St. Mary's College, Galway (1947–52). He studied for the priesthood in the Irish College in Rome and was ordained in 1958. Fr. Martin Coen died on 2 December 1997 and is buried in Ballymore Cemetery, Craughwell, Co. Galway.
