Codes (band)
Codes are an Irish Indie rock, indie Electronica, electronic quartet from Dublin, consisting of Daragh Anderson, Eoin Stephens, Niall Woods and Raymond Hogge. Their debut album ''Trees Dream in Algebra'' was nominated for the 2010 Choice Music Prize. History Formation Codes formed in late 2007 when all members – who had been friends for several years – found themselves available to compose and play music together. Previously, Daragh and former member Paul Reilly had played in an early version of the group, alongside Alan Greene and Stephen Burke. Raymond – who had just recently moved to Dublin left a band that he was involved with. Debut album (2008–2010) In early 2008, they released two independent singles –"This is Goodbye" and "Guided by Ghosts", that both entered the Irish top 50 at number 32 and number 43 respectively. Electric Picnic
Electric Picnic is an annual arts-and-music festival which has been staged since 2004 at Stradbally Hall in Stradbally, County Laois, Ireland. It is organised by Pod Concerts and Festival Republic, who purchased the majority shareholding in 2009. It was voted Best Medium-Sized European Festival at the 2010 European Festival Awards, and has been voted Best Big Festival at each of the last four Irish Festival Awards since they began in 2007. The Picnic has been described as "Ireland's version of Glastonbury" and "a great inspiration to Latitude" by one of its business partners, Laois. US magazine ''Billboard'' calling it as "a magnificent rock n roll circus, a textbook example of everything a festival should be" and ''Rolling Stone'' describing it as "one of the best festivals we've ever been to". Greg Haver
Greg Haver is a Welsh music producer, based in New Zealand. He is best known for his work with the Manic Street Preachers and Melanie C. He has worked on a number of award-winning singles and albums. With the Manic Street Preachers, he was involved in production for numerous gold and platinum accredited albums. ''This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours, Send Away the Tigers'' and '' Know Your Enemy'' albums received gold accreditations in the UK. He also worked on Melanie C's album ''Beautiful Intentions''. Haver has also worked with a number of well-known New Zealand artists. He has produced songs for The Feelers, Opshop, Kimbra and Goodnight Nurse. Career During Haver's early years as a musician, he worked with the Welsh band, Waterfront, in the late 1980s. He was the band's musical director and drummer, playing on their top 10 US single, Cry. Triangulum
Triangulum is a small constellation in the northern sky. Its name is Latin for "triangle", derived from its three brightest stars, which form a long and narrow triangle. Known to the ancient Babylonians and Greeks, Triangulum was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy. The celestial cartographers Johann Bayer and John Flamsteed catalogued the constellation's stars, giving six of them Bayer designations. The white stars Beta and Gamma Trianguli, of apparent magnitudes 3.00 and 4.00, respectively, form the base of the triangle and the yellow-white Alpha Trianguli, of magnitude 3.41, the apex. Castlepalooza was an annual Irish independent music & Arts Festival, held at Charleville Castle in Tullamore, County Offaly. The festival began in 2005 and was held annually until 2019. The 2006 festival was described by ''Hot Press'' as a "bite-sized Electric Picnic, held in the grounds of a 17th-century castle, with the added bonus of indoor toilets and showers". The festival was described by The Sunday Business Post as "The best little music festival in Ireland". Background Castlepalooza first took place in 2005 created by Katie Vance – this resulted in Castlepalooza 2006.
