Cockni O'Dire
Cokni O'Dire aka Jah CoknI, King CoknI, OTO and Uncle O Williams (born 1967) is a British ragga MC, DJ and hip hop music, hip hop artist best known for being a member of the original Scheme Team featured on the Rhyme Syndicate/Epic Records release of Divine Styler's ''Word Power (album), Word Power''. Biography Cokni was born in Wembley, London, Middlesex, England but was raised in various parts of New York (state), New York. The first crew he joined was El Producto in Cambria Heights, Queens, where he was the Human B-Box for LL Cool J, during the time when rhymed with the Albino Twins in the early 1980s. He battled many who wielded the art of oral percussion, one of which was Rahzel, in a competition judged by Biz Markie. Initially known for having a thick ragga inspired vocal style, he coined the phrase 'Shock Out' in the Los Angeles hip hop dance circle during the years of 1989 and 1990. Ragga
Raggamuffin music (or simply ragga) is a subgenre of dancehall and reggae music. The instrumentals primarily consist of electronic music with heavy use of sampling. Wayne Smith's " Under Mi Sleng Teng", produced by King Jammy in 1985 on a Casio MT-40 synthesizer, is a seminal ragga song. "Sleng Teng" boosted Jammy's popularity immensely, and other producers quickly released their own versions of the riddim, accompanied by dozens of different vocalists. Origins Ragga originated in Jamaica during the 1980s, at the same time that electronic dance music's popularity was increasing globally. Ragga spread to Europe, North America, and Africa, eventually spreading to Japan, India, and the rest of the world. Ragga heavily influenced early jungle music, and also spawned the syncretistic bhangragga style when fused with bhangra. KXLU (88.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting out of Loyola Marymount University in southwest Los Angeles, California. It was first on the air in 1957, and in 2007, celebrated its 50th anniversary. House Of Pain
House of Pain was an American hip hop trio that released three albums in the 1990s. The group consisted of DJ Lethal, Danny Boy, and Everlast. They are best known for their 1992 hit single " Jump Around", which reached number 3 in their native United States of America, number 6 in Ireland and number 8 in the United Kingdom. The group broke up in 1996. Lead rapper Everlast went on to pursue a solo career as a blues rock artist and member of the supergroup La Coka Nostra which also featured DJ Lethal. DJ Lethal would later join and find commercial success with the rap rock band Limp Bizkit. House of Pain reunited briefly in 2010 for a world tour. The group's name is a reference to the H.G.
