Cochem (before 7 June 2009 ''Cochem-Land'') is a ''Verbandsgemeinde'' ("collective municipality") in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located around the town Cochem (also part of the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' since 7 June 2009), which is the seat of the ''Verbandsgemeinde''. Verbandsgemeinde
A Verbandsgemeinde (; plural Verbandsgemeinden) is a low-level administrative unit in the German federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony-Anhalt. A Verbandsgemeinde is typically composed of a small group of villages or towns. Rhineland-Palatinate The state of Rhineland-Palatinate is divided into 163 Verbandsgemeinden, which are municipal associations grouped within the 24 districts of the state and subdivided into 2,257 Ortsgemeinden (singular Ortsgemeinde) which comprise single settlements. Most of the Verbandsgemeinden were established in 1969. Formerly the name for an administrative unit was ''Amt''. Greimersburg
Greimersburg is an – a municipality belonging to a , a kind of collective municipality – in the Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Cochem, whose seat is in the like-named town. Geography The municipality lies in the Eifel between Trier and Koblenz near the towns of Cochem on the Moselle and Kaisersesch. History In the 7th century, Greimersburg had its first documentary mention as one of Frankish ruler Pepin the Elder’s holdings. Electoral-Trier overlordship was swept away in 1794 by the French Revolutionary occupation. In 1815 Greimersburg was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna. Valwig
Valwig is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Senheim
Senheim is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Cochem-Zell district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
