	Coalition Of Domestic Election Observers Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) is an independent and non-partisan organisation made up of civil society groups, faith-based organizations and professional organisations which observe elections in Ghana. It was established in 2000 by the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) to assist Ghanaians to engage in country's electoral processes and to assist the Electoral Commission of Ghana. 	Electoral Commission Of Ghana The Electoral Commission of Ghana(EC) is the official body in Ghana responsible for all public elections. Made up of seven members, its independence is guaranteed by the 1992 Ghana constitution. The current commission was established by the Electoral Commission Act (Act 451) of 1993. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan was the first substantive chairman of the commission from 1993 to 2015. He was succeeded by Charlotte Osei as the first female chairman of the commission. 	Miranda Greenstreet Miranda Greenstreet is a Ghanaian academic and educationist. Career Greenstreet worked with the University of Ghana and was at the Institute of Adult Education (now Institute of Continuing and Distance Education) where she rose to become the director of the institute. She continued to be a regular contributor to the Annual New Year School organised by the institute. Other activities She was the co-chair of the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) together with Justice V. C. R. A. C. Crabbe, a former Supreme Court Judge. 	Elections In Ghana Elections in Ghana give information on election and election results in Ghana. Ghana elects on national level a head of state, the president, and a legislature. The president is elected for a four-year term by the people. The Parliament of Ghana has 275 members, elected for a four-year term in single-seat constituencies. The presidential election is won by having more than 50% of valid votes cast, whilst the parliamentary elections is won by simple majority, and, as is predicted by Duverger's law, the voting system has encouraged Ghanaian politics into a two-party system, creating extreme difficulty for anybody attempting to achieve electoral success under any banner other than those of the two dominant parties.
