Clóvis Frainer
Clóvis Frainer Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, OFMCap (March 23, 1931 – April 4, 2017) was a Roman Catholic archbishop. Life Frainer entered the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin and was ordained a priest by the Archbishop of Porto Alegre, Alfredo Vicente Scherer, on March 27, 1955. Pope Paul VI appointed Frainer on January 3, 1978 the first prelate of the territorial prelature of Roman Catholic Diocese of Coxim, Coxim, which was established on the same date. The apostolic nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Carmine Rocco, consecrated Frainer as a bishop on April 9 of the same year; Co-consecrators were Benedito Zorzi, Bishop of Caxias do Sul, and Antônio Barbosa Salesians of Don Bosco, SDB, bishop of Campo Grande. Frainer's motto as a bishop was ''Evangelisare misit me'' ("He sent me to evangelize"). The Order of Friars Minor Capuchin (; postnominal abbr. OFMCap) is a religious order of Franciscan friars within the Catholic Church, one of three " First Orders" that reformed from the Franciscan Friars Minor Observant (OFMObs, now OFM), the other being the Conventuals (OFMConv). Franciscans reformed as Capuchins in 1525 with the purpose of regaining the original Habit (tunic) of St. Francis of Assisi and also for returning to a stricter observance of the rule established by Francis of Assisi in 1209.
