Clyde Graf
Clyde Waldemar Graf is a New Zealand politician, anti-1080 activist, and convicted bank robber. He has served on the Waikato Regional Council from 2013 to 2016 and again since 2022. Early life In February 1986, Graf and his younger brother Paul were sentenced to ten years in prison for bank robberies committed in Brisbane, Australia. Clyde would rob the banks with an imitation gun and a disguise, while Paul served as the getaway driver. They served two-and-a-half years before completing their sentences on parole. Anti-1080 activism In 2008, Graf and his brother Steve, collectively known as The Graf Boys, debuted their first anti-1080 documentary ''A Shadow of Doubt''. They screened it in Carterton to a crowd of about 60. In March 2009, they released ''Poisoning Paradise''. Ban 1080 Party
The Ban 1080 Party was a political party in New Zealand that opposed the use of sodium fluoroacetate (1080) poison, which is widely used in New Zealand for controlling mammalian pests such as possums and rats. The party was founded in 2014 by Bill Wallace and its co-leaders were Bill Wallace and Mike Downard. The party was registered by the Electoral Commission in 2014 and deregistered in February 2018. Water Services Reform Programme
The Water Services Reform Programme (formerly known as Three Waters) is a public infrastructure restructuring programme launched by the Sixth Labour Government to centralise the management of water supply and sanitation in New Zealand. It originally proposed shifting control of stormwater, drinking water and wastewater management from the country's 67 local councils to several new publicly-owned regional entities by July 2024.
