Chester Clute
Chester Lamont Clute (February 18, 1891 – April 2, 1956) was an American actor familiar in scores of Hollywood films from his debut in 1930. Diminutive, bald-pated with a bristling moustache, he appeared in mostly unbilled roles, consisting usually of one or two lines, in nearly 250 films. Biography Born Chester Lamont Clute in Orange, New Jersey, Clute died of a heart attack in Woodland Hills, California, aged 65. He is buried at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery. John Clute
John Frederick Clute (born 12 September 1940) is a Canadian-born author and critic specializing in science fiction and fantasy literature who has lived in both England and the United States since 1969. Judith Clute (born 1942) is a Canadian painter, graphic designer, print-maker, and illustrator who has created cover art and illustrations for a number of well-known science fiction authors and magazines. Clute has British citizenship and works in London. She is also a tour guide with the Original London Walks. Life and career Judith Rosanne Wood James was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1942, but grew up in Toronto and matriculated from Bishop Strachan School in 1961. In the same year she was invited to be a painting apprentice for two years in Vancouver with Françoise Andre and Charles Stegeman. She married John Clute in 1964 and they moved to Camden Town in London in 1969. From the beginning of her time in London, Clute became involved with the New Arts Lab. In June 1970, she participated in an exhibition with Pamela Zoline entitled "Judith Clute: Diagrams/Similes and Pamela Zoline: Things in the World" at the London New Arts Lab. Sidney Richard Clute (April 21, 1916 – October 2, 1985) was an American film and television actor. He was notable for playing Detective Paul La Guardia on 57 episodes of the American police procedural drama ''Cagney & Lacey'' (1982–85). He also played "Detective Simms" on 10 episodes in '' McCloud''. Clute guest-starred in numerous television programs including ''Hawaii Five-O'', ''Emergency!'', ''The Rockford Files'', '' Kolchak: The Night Stalker'', ''All in the Family'', '' Adam-12'' and ''The Mary Tyler Moore Show''. Willard N. Clute (1869–1950) was an American author, naturalist and botanist. He was born in Steuben County, New York, the son of George N. and Ruth Wright Clute. He married Ida Martin (born 1869), who illustrated some of his works. Clute founded the American Fern Society. He was editor of '' The Fern Bulletin'', the original publication of the American Fern Society (originally called ''The Linnaean Fern Bulletin''), and of ''The American Botanist''. He was associated with Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana for many years. Starting in 1928, he was professor of botany and curator of the botanical gardens. He collected ferns, lycopods, and nonvascular plants in North America, Jamaica and New Zealand. His specimens are housed in the Friesner Herbarium at Butler University. Clute, Texas
Clute is a city in Brazoria County, Texas, within the Houston metropolitan area. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the city population was 10,604. The city gained some fame with the discovery of a fossilized mammoth named Asiel. There is now a restaurant/museum of the same name to honor this discovery. Geography Clute is located at (29.026060, –95.394539). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which, of it is land and of it (5.14%) is water. History Clute's history began at the junction of the old Calvit and Eagle Island Plantations. Alexander Calvit, one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred, obtained title to the land in 1824.
