Costa del Este is a Panamanian football club based in Panama City, that currently plays in Liga Panameña de Fútbol. It takes its name from the real estate development in the township of Juan Díaz, Panama City. History Since its inception in 2008 and until 2014, the club was based in La Chorrera and known as Santos FC. Under new ownership the team had a perfect season winning the 2017-18 Liga Nacional de Ascenso Apertura and Clausura tournaments and gaining direct promotion to Liga Panameña de Fútbol. The winning streak continued during the 2018-19 Liga Panameña de Fútbol Apertura tournament reaching to the title game against Tauro FC losing the match 1–2. Estadio Rommel Fernández
The Estadio Olímpico Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez, named after the Panamanian football star Rommel Fernández (1966–1993), is a multi-purpose stadium in Panama City. It is used for different sports, but mainly football (soccer) games. It was inaugurated February 6, 1970, and was designed to accommodate the XI Central American and Caribbean Games in 1970. Through further reforms, the stadium reached its current capacity of 32,000 spectators all seated, the largest stadium in Panama. It is part of Sports City Irving Saladino. History Early history On April 4, 1976, it marked the debut of the Panamanian national team to make the run to the 1978 FIFA World Cup in Argentina. Juan Vita
Juan Vita (born 11 May 1987) is an Argentine football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. Playing career Vita began his career at Club Lácar, joining River Plate's youth ranks at the age of 13. During Vita's senior career, he played for Alvarado and Deportivo Morón, before retiring at the age of 22 to focus on coaching. Francisco Alejandro Bautista Portillo (born 25 January 1981) is a Panamanian footballer, who currently plays for Atlético Nacional. Club career He started his career at Sporting 89 and played for various local sides before embarking on a career abroad, playing several years in Salvadoran football. He joined Once Municipal in February 2007 and in January 2008 moved to ambitious capital club San Salvador, only to leave them for Alianza in July 2008. Francisco Alfonso Perlo Marín (born 16 May 1987) is a Venezuelan football manager, currently in charge of Panamanian club Tauro. Career Born in Valencia, Carabobo, Perlo notably worked in the youth categories of Caracas and Carabobo before moving to Panama in December 2015, after being named manager of Costa del Este.
