Cloyne GAA
Cloyne GAA club is located in the small town of Cloyne in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club plays in the Imokilly GAA, Imokilly division of Cork GAA. Founded in 1887 they have yet to win a Cork Senior Hurling Championship title and have the dubious distinction of losing in 3 successive finals (2004, 2005 and 2006). Christy Ring one of their most famous players played for the team before moving to play for Glen Rovers GAA, Glen Rovers in 1941 was often called ''The Wizard of Cloyne'' for his hurling prowess and a statue commemorating him stands in the centre of the town. The 1997 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 88th staging of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1909. The draw for the opening fixtures took place on 8 December 1996. The championship began on 22 June 1997 and ended on 2 November 1997. On 2 November 1997, Cloyne won the championship after a 1-12 to 1-07 defeat of Delanys in the final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. It was their third championship title overall and their first title since 1970. Milford's Dan O'Brien was the championship's top scorer with 1-29. Paudie O'Sullivan
Paudie O'Sullivan (born 28 November 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays for Cork Premier Championship club Cloyne and Cork Senior Championship division Imokilly. He usually plays as a full-forward. O'Sullivan is a former member of the Cork senior hurling team. O'Sullivan's brother, Diarmuid, is a three-time All-Ireland medalist with Cork, while his father, Jerry, has filled a number of important administrative roles with the Cork County Board and the Munster Council. Diarmuid O'Sullivan
Diarmuid O'Sullivan (born 27 July 1978) is an Irish hurling coach and hurler who plays for Cork Premier Championship club Cloyne. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for 12 years, during which time he usually lined out as a full-back. A fan favourite who was noted for his swashbuckling style during his inter-county career, O'Sullivan is considered a "Cork legend". O'Sullivan began his hurling career at club level with Cloyne, for whom his father Jerry O'Sullivan, had also played. Cloyne
Cloyne () is a small town to the southeast of Midleton in eastern County Cork. It is also a see city of the Anglican (Church of Ireland) Diocese of Cork, Cloyne and Ross, while also giving its name to a Roman Catholic diocese. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Only Blackrock have won more Cork senior hurling championships. Hurling Colours In the early days of the club, its colours were green, white and gold.
