Cloud County Thunderbirds
The Cloud County Thunderbirds are the sports teams of Cloud County Community College located in Concordia, Kansas, United States. They participate in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. The Thunderbirds have won NJCAA national championships in women's basketball (2001) and men's soccer (2011). The school's track teams have finished in the top five nationally on several occasions. Cloud County Community College
Cloud County Community College is a public community college with campuses in Concordia and Junction City, Kansas. Concordia campus Cloud County Community College was founded in Concordia in 1965 and began classes in the Concordia Junior-Senior High School. The college moved to its present site in 1968. The architecture of the main campus is that of "pods" which are designed to evoke the rolling hills of the area. The athletic teams are known as the Thunderbirds (men) and Lady Thunderbirds (women). CCCC was the 2001 NJCAA national champion in women's basketball, 2010 Men's Soccer, 2019 Men's Outdoor Track and Field, and 2019 Men's Cross Country. Southwestern College Moundbuilders
The Southwestern Moundbuilders are the athletic teams that represent Southwestern College, located in Winfield, Kansas, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) since the 1958–59 academic year; which they were a member on a previous stint from 1902–03 to 1922–23. The Moundbinders previously competed in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (CIC) from 1923–24 to 1957–58. Canadian Premier League
The Canadian Premier League (CPL or CanPL; french: Première ligue canadienne, links=no) is a professional men's Association football, soccer league in Canada. At the top of the Canadian soccer league system, it is the country's primary national soccer league competition. The league consists of eight teams, from five of provinces and territories of Canada, Canada's ten provinces. Each team plays 28 games in the regular season which is followed by playoffs culminating in the Canadian Premier League Finals, CPL Finals. Forge FC is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Hamilton, Ontario, that competes in the Canadian Premier League, the top tier of Canadian soccer. Kadell Thomas (born November 26, 1996) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays for Sigma FC in League1 Ontario. The Minnesota Lynx are an American professional basketball team based in Minneapolis, playing in the Western Conference in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Shanele Marie Stires (born ) is an American retired professional women's basketball player and current college basketball coach. Career She is the head coach of the Cal Poly women's basketball team since April 2022. Stires attended Cloud County Community College during her freshman year before transferring to Kansas State University, where she graduated in 1995 with a B.S. degree in Social Science. With Kansas State, Stires scored 1,344 career points, and as a senior was selected for Kodak All-America honorable mention and All- Big 8 First Team accolades. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Jason Mark Rees (born 22 December 1969) is a Welsh former professional footballer and Wales international. Club career Rees began his career with Luton Town before moving to Portsmouth in 1994 on a free transfer, having spent the majority of the 1993–94 season on loan at Mansfield Town. He struggled to hold down a first team place at Fratton Park and was allowed to join Exeter City on loan during the 1996–97 season but a permanent move never materialised and he returned to Portsmouth until his release at the end of the season. Deon Lyle
Deon Jay Lyle (born August 30, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Cloud CC Thunderbirds and the UTSA Roadrunners. In 2018, he played for the Chicago Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA). High school career The son of Arthur and Sarah Lyle, Deon has three brothers and one sister. He grew up in Hastings, Nebraska and learned to play basketball at the YMCA. Lyle played two seasons at Hastings High School in Nebraska. In his junior year, he transferred to Norton Community High School in Kansas. As a senior, he averaged 21.9 points, 8.8 boards, 2.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
