Close To You (Whigfield Song)
"Close to You" is a song by Italian Eurodance project Whigfield, performed by Danish-born Sannie Charlotte Carlson and released in August 1995 as the fourth single from her first album, ''Whigfield'' (1995). It was her first ballad and a top-20 hit in Denmark, Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom. On the Eurochart Hot 100, it reached number 67. Critical reception Larry Flick from ''Billboard'' wrote about the song, "Wisely, Whigfield broadens its stylistic palette slightly by issuing a jam fueled by a chugging faux-funk beat. Whigfield
Whigfield is an Italian dance act fronted by Danish singer, songwriter and record producer Sannie Charlotte Carlson (born 11 April 1970), known by her various stage names including Whigfield, Naan, or simply Sannie. She is best known for her 1993 single " Saturday Night", which became an international hit the following year. Based in Italy at the time, Carlson worked with Italian producer Larry Pignagnoli and " Saturday Night" entered the top five in Italy. Her single " Another Day" also managed to peak at number three in Italy as well. The single " Sexy Eyes" also charted in a number of other markets, along with "Another Day" and " Think of You" which entered the top ten in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, and her native Denmark. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. ''DV'' (''Dagblaðið Vísir'') is an online newspaper in Iceland published by Torg ehf. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged. Early on it was one of the largest newspapers in Iceland and at one point had a 64% readership in Iceland.
