Clorinda Rosato
Clorinda Rosato (11 December 1913 - 22 May 1985) was a Brazilian composer, pianist and teacher. Rosato was born in Sao Simao, Brazil. She studied music at the Conservatorio Dramatico Musical of Sao Paulo. Her teachers included Martin Braunwieser, Ines de Campo, Antonio Candido, Furio Frenceschini, Miguel Antonio Gallo, Francisco Mignone, Alice Ornellas, Artur Pereira and Frutuoso Viana. Rosato gave her first piano recital in 1932 and performed until 1965, when she retired to teach. Her music is available through the Instituto Piano Brasileiro. The Conservatório Dramático e Musical de São Paulo (Musical and Dramatic Conservatory of São Paulo) was a conservatory for students of music in São Paulo, Brazil. The Conservatory was founded on February 15, 1906, and inaugurated officially on March 12 of that year. In 1909 it moved to its last location on Avenida São João, downtown. Francisco Mignone
Francisco Paulo Mignone (September 3, 1897, São Paulo – February 19, 1986, Rio de Janeiro) was one of the most significant figures in Brazilian classical music, and one of the most significant Brazilian composers after Heitor Villa-Lobos. In 1968 he was chosen as Brazilian composer of the year. Life and career A graduate of the São Paulo Conservatory and then of the Milan Conservatory, Mignone returned to São Paulo in 1929 to teach harmony, and in 1933 took a post in Rio de Janeiro at the Escola Nacional de Música. Mignone was a versatile composer, dividing his output nearly evenly between solo songs, piano pieces, chamber instrumental works, orchestral works, and choral works. In addition, he wrote five operas and eight ballets.
