Clor
Clor was a short-lived five-piece band from Brixton, England, formed by Barry Dobbin and Luke Smith in 2003 and which signed to the Parlophone record label after only six gigs. The band released a self-titled first album, in 2005 to critical acclaim. The album was selected by NME journalist Krissi Murison for the list of "The 100 Greatest Albums You've Never Heard" published by the ''NME'' in 2010. History The genesis of Clor was a Soho club night entitled Bad Bunny, run by Dobbin and Smith, who wanted to incorporate their own music into their DJ sets. They began recording in Smith's apartment and soon invited associates from the club night into their fold, expanding to a five-piece. Luke Smith (record Producer)
Luke Smith (born 4 May 1978) is an English record producer, mixing engineer, musician and songwriter. He was the co-founder, songwriter, guitarist and vocalist of the band Clor. His production and writing credits include Foals, Depeche Mode, Foxes, Anna of The North, Keaton Henson, Crystal Fighters, Slow Club, Everything Everything, Fryars and Petite Noir. He has worked on such popular and critically acclaimed albums as ''Total Life Forever'' and ''Sounds of the Universe''. Max Taylor (musician)
Max Taylor (born October 25, 1985) is a British singer-songwriter from East London. He has accompanied singer Mika on albums and international tours since 2012, playing bass and contributing vocals. Debuts Taylor was first part of the band Clor, alongside his brother, who played drums. He also toured with British rapper Roots Manuva during this period, and Max had the opportunity to collaborate with many different artists and bands, such as Groove Armada, Tom Vek, Rae Morris, Melanie C, and also CocknBullKid. He has also played bass for Lily Allen and Fryars. In 2012, Taylor met Mika, and recorded bass for him on a few songs from his album "The Origin Of Love", which included a collaboration with Pharrell Williams on the song " Celebrate". Fryars
Benjamin Garrett, better known by his stage name Fryars (sometimes stylised frYars), is an English art pop musician from London. Career Fryars released his debut EP, ''The Ides'', in September 2007, and was profiled as ''The Guardian''s "New band of the week" in November. A second EP, ''The Perfidy'', followed in March 2008. His debut album, ''Dark Young Hearts'', was released in September 2009; its first single, "Visitors", features backing vocals from Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. Shitdisco
Shitdisco were a dance-punk band from Glasgow, Scotland. They formed in 2003 while studying at the Glasgow School of Art, consisting of Joel Stone (bass, guitar, vocals), Joe Reeves (bass, guitar, vocals), Jan Lee (keyboards, backing vocals) and Darren Cullen (drums). The band's first single "Disco Blood"/"I Know Kung Fu" was released in December 2005. Signed to record label Fierce Panda, their debut album ''Kingdom of Fear'' was released on 16 April 2007. The group have been compared to Talking Heads and The Rapture, but admitted influences ranging from Donna Summer, Arthur Russel and The Prodigy to Gang of Four and The Clash. Foals, stylised as FOALS, are a British rock band formed in Oxford in 2005. The band's current line-up consists of Greek-born lead vocalist and guitarist Yannis Philippakis, drummer and percussionist Jack Bevan and rhythm guitarist Jimmy Smith.
