The club was founded on 19 July 2011 as A.S.D. Clodiense after the merger of A.C. Chioggia Sottomarina and A.S.D. Sottomarina Lido. The club started to play in Eccellenza Veneto (the last league of ''A.S.D. Sottomarina Lido'') and gained promotion to serie D after just one season. Stadio Aldo E Dino Ballarin
Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '':it:w:Anidride Solforosa (album), Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). Dino Ballarin
Dino Ballarin (23 September 1925 – 4 May 1949) was an Italian footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career He arrived at Torino in 1947, the team in which his brother, Aldo Ballarin, played as a defender. Dino arrived from the amateurs never played in any competitive games for Torino. However, he distinguished himself in the team for his dedication, which saw him first to arrive at practice and the last to leave. As a reward, his brother Aldo convinced the club to take him to Lisbon for a friendly with Benfica, which would be the final game of the '' Grande Torino''. Aldo Ballarin (; 10 January 1922 – 4 May 1949) was an Italian association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender. Club career Ballarin played for five seasons (166 games, three goals) in Serie A for U.S. Triestina Calcio and Torino F.C., Torino. With Torino, he won four Serie A titles. International career He made his debut for the Italy national football team on 11 November 1945 in a game against Switzerland national football team, Switzerland. Personal life Aldo's younger brothers Dino Ballarin and Sergio Ballarin also played football professionally. To distinguish them, Aldo was referred to as Ballarin I, Dino as Ballarin II and Sergio as Ballarin III. 2010–11 Eccellenza Season
The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italian football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. All 20 regions are represented by at least one division except for Piedmont and Aosta Valley which share 2 divisions. Veneto, Tuscany, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna and Campania also have 2 divisions each, while the regions of Lombardy and Lazio have 3 divisions. Promotion and relegation After the regular season is completed, the first-placed team for each division is automatically promoted to Serie D. Each division also admits one other team to participate in national playoffs that take place in late May and early June. The Promozione (, "promotion") is the sixth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Promozione level progresses to their closest regional league in the Eccellenza level. Depending on each league's local rules, a number of teams each year are relegated from each league, to the 7th level of Italian football, the Prima Categoria. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a regional level. Chioggia
Chioggia (; vec, Cióxa , locally ; la, Clodia) is a coastal town and ''comune'' of the Metropolitan City of Venice in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Geography The town is situated on a small island at the southern entrance to the Lagoon of Venice about south of Venice ( by road); causeways connect it to the mainland and to its ''frazione'', nowadays a quarter, of Sottomarina.
