''Clockface Café'' (French: ''Le Café du Cadran'') is a 1947 French drama film directed by Jean Gehret and Henri Decoin and starring Bernard Blier, Blanchette Brunoy and Aimé Clariond.https://www.unifrance.org/film/2836/le-cafe-du-cadran The film's sets were designed by the art director Emile Alex. Synopsis A young couple from Auvergne, Julien and Louise Couturier buy a café in the heart of Paris. The capital soon has a detrimental effect on them as Julien falls in with bad company and Louise flirts with violinist Luigi and develops a taste for expensive things. Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (; 28 January 1873 – 3 August 1954), known as Colette or Colette Willy, was a French author and woman of letters. She was also a mime, actress, and journalist. Colette is best known in the English-speaking world for her 1944 novella '' Gigi'', which was the basis for the 1958 film and the 1973 stage production of the same name. Her short story collection ''The Tendrils of the Vine'' is also famous in France.
