Clitopilus Australis
''Clitopilus'' is a genus of fungi in the family Entolomataceae. The genus has a widespread distribution, especially in northern temperate areas. Although a 2008 estimate suggested about 30 species in the genus, a more recent publication (2009) using molecular phylogenetics has redefined the genus to include many former ''Rhodocybe'' species. Species *'' Clitopilus acerbus'' Noordel. & Co-David *'' Clitopilus albovelutinus'' (G. Stev.) Noordel. & Co-David *'' Clitopilus alutaceus'' (Singer) Noordel. & Co-David *'' Clitopilus amarellus'' (Cons., D. Antonini, M. Antonini & Contu) Noordel. & Co-David *''Clitopilus amygdaliformis'' Zhu L. Yang *'' Clitopilus angustisporus'' (Singer) Noordel. & Co-David *'' Clitopilus ardosiacus'' (E. Elias Magnus Fries
Elias Magnus Fries (15 August 1794 – 8 February 1878) was a Swedish mycologist and botanist. He is sometimes called the Mycology, "Linnaeus of Mycology". In his works he described and assigned botanical names to hundreds of fungus and lichen species, many of which remain authoritative today. Career Fries was born at Femsjö (Hylte Municipality), Småland, the son of the pastor there. He attended school in Växjö. He acquired an extensive knowledge of flowering plants from his father. In 1811 Fries entered Lund University where he studied under Carl Adolph Agardh and Anders Jahan Retzius. He obtained his doctorate in 1814. In the same year he was appointed an associate professorship in botany. Fries edited several exsiccata series, the first starting in 1818 under the title ''Lichenes Sveciae exsiccati, curante Elia Fries'' and the last together with Franz Joseph Lagger under the title ''Hieracia europaea exsiccata''. He was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academ ...

Clitopilus Byssisedoides
''Clitopilus byssisedoides'' is a species of fungus in the family Entolomataceae. It was formally described as new to science in 2010, based on specimens found growing in a greenhouse in Botanischer Garten Jena, in Germany. Taxonomy The species was first mentioned by Andreas Gminder in a 2005 publication, who provisionally called it ''Rhodocybe byssisedoides'' because of its similarity to the species '' Entoloma byssisedum''. Since that publication, a molecular phylogenetics analysis has shown that '' Clitopilus'' is nested within ''Rhodocybe'', and both genera have been subsumed into a broader definition of ''Clitopilus''. ''Clitopilus byssisedoides'' was formally described in a 2010 '' Mycotaxon'' publication. The authors suggest that it should be classified in the section ''Claudopodes'', of the former genus ''Rhodocybe'', as defined by Timothy J. Baroni in 1981. This infrageneric grouping of species is characterized by stipes that are either absent or laterally attached to t ...
