Cleo Youtz
Cleo S. Youtz (1909–2005) was an American statistician who worked for many years at Harvard University as the research assistant, collaborator, computer, and coauthor of Frederick Mosteller, as manager of Mosteller's other staff, and as the historian of the Harvard statistics department. Youtz was hired by Mosteller in 1957 when he was appointed chair of the newly formed department, and continued working with Mosteller after he retired from teaching in 1987, until he finally left Harvard in 2003. Frederick Mosteller
Charles Frederick Mosteller (December 24, 1916 – July 23, 2006) was an American mathematician, considered one of the most eminent statisticians of the 20th century. He was the founding chairman of Harvard's statistics department from 1957 to 1971, and served as the president of several professional bodies including the Psychometric Society, the American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the International Statistical Institute.
