Clemilda Fernandes Silva
Clemilda Fernandes Silva (born June 25, 1979) is a Brazilian cycle racer, who is currently suspended from the sport. Career Born in São Félix do Araguaia, Mato Grosso, Fernandes scored three consecutive wins in the Copa América de Ciclismo in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She competed in the Women's road race at the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in 51st place. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's road race, finishing 23rd, and in the Women's time trial, finishing 18th. She competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In 2019, Fernandes was given an eight-year ban for an anti-doping violation, specific to tampering. Cycling competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics were held from August 9 to August 23 at the Laoshan Velodrome (track events), Laoshan Mountain Bike Course, Laoshan BMX Field and the Beijing Cycling Road Course. The Copa da Republica de Ciclismo is a single day road cycling race held in Brazil. It exists as both a men's and a women's competition. The women's race, however, did not occur in the first and fifth editions. The first edition of the race was held in 2002 at the Aterro do Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro. From the second edition (held in 2003) to the fifth (held in January 2007), the race took place at the Monumental Axis of Brasília. The sixth edition took place on the streets of Belo Horizonte in December 2007. The seventh edition returned to Aterro do Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro. The cycling competitions of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro were held at four venues scheduled to host Eighteen events between 6 August and 21 August.
