Clement Chukwu
Clement Chukwu (born 7 July 1973) is a former Nigerian athlete who specialized in the 200 metres, 200 and 400 metres. Academics Chukwu attended Eastern Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning, minoring in Geography, and a Master of Science degree in Geographical Information Systems. He is currently the Planning Director for the City of Pickerington, Ohio, a suburb southeast of Columbus. Track and Field After being banned from 1992 to 1996 for a positive drug test he reemerged at the Athletics at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996 Olympics over 400 metres, being knocked out in the quarter-finals. 2000 Summer Olympics
The 2000 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXVII Olympiad and also known as Sydney 2000 (Dharug: ''Gadigal 2000''), the Millennium Olympic Games or the Games of the New Millennium, was an international multi-sport event held from 15 September to 1 October 2000 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Eastern Michigan University (EMU, Eastern Michigan or simply Eastern), is a public research university in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Founded in 1849 as Michigan State Normal School, the school was the fourth normal school established in the United States and the first American normal school founded outside New England. Athletics At The 1999 All-Africa Games
The seventh All-Africa Games were held in September 1999 in Johannesburg, South Africa. As the track is at an altitude of 1748 metres all performances are considered to be set at altitude, this is believed to assist events up to 400 metres and in the long jump and triple jump. However, for events beyond 800 metres the thinner air is believed to have a detrimental effect on performances. Maria de Lurdes Mutola of Mozambique won her third 800 metres title in a row. Nigeria won all four relay races; 4 × 100 metres and 4 × 400 metres for men and women. South African athletes won all four throwing events for men. Some new women's events were added: pole vault, hammer throw and 10 kilometres road walk. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students.
