Clem Morden
Clemence Edward Morden (22 May 1907 – 26 March 1987) was a former Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda and Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Korumburra
Korumburra is a town in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located on the South Gippsland Highway, south-east of Melbourne, in the South Gippsland Shire local government area. At the Korumburra had an urban population of 3,639. Surrounded by rolling green hills, the town is above the sea level of coastal Inverloch, about away. History The Post Office in the area opened on 1 September 1884, and moved to the township on the railway survey line on 1 November 1889, the existing office being renamed Glentress. Australian Rules Football
Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its inaugural season commencing the following year. Ignatius John "Jack" O'Rourke (15 January 1899 – 13 May 1969) was an Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda and Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family One of the ten children of Joseph Francis O'Rourke (1868-1951), and Maria Mary "Polly" O'Rourke, née Dunne (1867-1933), Ignatius John O'Rourke was born at Cororooke, Victoria on 15 January 1899. His brother, Frank O'Rourke, played for Carlton and Fitzroy. He married Beryl Josine Morden (1901-1996) in 1926. Both their sons, John Brian "Jack" O'Rourke (1928-2008) and Basil Joseph O'Rourke (1930-2017), played for Richmond in the VFL.
