Anna Cleaver is a professional triathlete from New Zealand. Life and career Born and raised in Auckland, Cleaver was a top level swimmer, coached by Jan Cameron (coach), Jan Cameron, in her teenage years. While studying at university she competed in Under-23 international triathlons. After graduating, Cleaver began her working career in corporate finance. She moved to Sydney to work in merchant banking and later joined Telstra's finance department, specialising in mergers and acquisitions. While on holiday in Hawaii she watched an Ironman event and decided to return to competitive triathlons. In 2012, she was hit by a car and trailer in an accident while training in Boulder, Colorado but recovered and continued to compete. Since 2013 she has competed in Ironman Triathlons around the world; in her first Ironman, in Melbourne, she placed seventh, and in 2014 she placed fifth in the Canada Ironman Championships. Kathleen Neal Cleaver (born May 13, 1945) is an American law professor and activist, known for her involvement with the Black Power movement and the Black Panther Party, a political and revolutionary. Early life Juette Kathleen Neal was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 13, 1945. Her parents were both activists and college graduates of the University of Michigan. Her father, Ernest Eugene Neal, was a sociology professor at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, and her mother, Pearl Juette Johnson, earned a master's degree in mathematics. Three years after Cleaver was born, her father accepted a job as the director of the Rural Life Council of Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, and they moved to a predominantly segregated, middle class community. Years later, Ernest joined the Foreign Service. The family moved abroad and lived in such countries as India, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and the Philippines. Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver is the fictional title character in the American television series '' Leave It to Beaver''. Originally played by Jerry Mathers, Beaver is the son of June and Ward Cleaver (Barbara Billingsley and Hugh Beaumont, respectively) and the brother of Wally Cleaver (Tony Dow). The Beaver prefers "messin' around" with his pals and reading comic books to attending church or taking dance lessons. June Evelyn Bronson Cleaver is a principal character in the American television sitcom '' Leave It to Beaver''. June and her husband, Ward, are often invoked as the archetypal suburban parents of the 1950s. The couple are the parents of two sons, Wally and "Beaver". William Cleaver (1742–1815) was an English churchman and academic, Principal of Brasenose College, Oxford, and bishop of three sees. Life He was the eldest son of the Rev. William Cleaver, who was the headmaster of a private school at Twyford in Buckinghamshire, and his wife Martha Lettice Lushden. He was the elder brother of Euseby Cleaver, Archbishop of Dublin from 1809 to 1819. He was at Magdalen College, Oxford, and after taking his B.A. degree, in 1761, was a fellow of Brasenose College; he became M.A. on 2 May 1764. Arthur Valentine Cleaver OBE FRAeS (14 February 1917 – 16 September 1977) was a distinguished British rocket engineer. He co-authored a paper which discussed the possibilities and problems of nuclear rocket engines in 1948. After the Second World War he developed de Havilland's Sprite and Spectre rocket engines. He moved to Rolls-Royce in 1957 and in 1960 he became general manager and chief engineer of the Rolls-Royce's rocket departments, where he was responsible for the engines which powered the Blue Streak missile and Black Arrow launch vehicle. While the ELDO vehicle was ultimately unsuccessful and abandoned, the Blue Streak vehicle and its engines worked perfectly on every launch, and Cleaver was awarded the OBE for his part in developing them. Solomon Cleaver (1855–1939) was a Winnipeg Minister of religion, minister and storytelling, storyteller best known for his adaptation of Victor Hugo's ''Les Misérables'', published in 1935 as ''Jean Val Jean''. Cleaver was a well-known orator; and actor Raymond Massey is said to have practiced Cleaver's sermons as a child. Jean Val Jean According to the publisher's preface, around the turn of the 20th century, Cleaver, a young Minister of religion, minister from Winnipeg, read through ''Les Misérables'' and often retold it in his own words. His oral adaptation proved so popular that he was persuaded to write it down and publish it. The resulting novel, titled ''Jean Val Jean'', is less than one-tenth the length of the original novel, and uses much simpler language than the original. It remains popular, especially among young readers who do not have the patience or reading skills for Hugo's five-volume original. References

Ellis Hughes Cleaver Jr. (12 September 1892 – 31 October 1980) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Burlington, Ontario and became a lawyer by career. Biography He was called to the bar in 1914 and later elected as Reeve of Burlington in 1918, but resigned in order to serve with the 1st Canadian Tank Battalion towards the end of World War I. He was elected as Burlington's Mayor in 1920. He was first elected to Parliament at the Halton riding in the 1935 general election, running as a Liberal-Progressive candidate but later allying with the Liberals.
