Claus Vissing
Claus Vissing (born 6 June 1986) is a Danish speedway rider. Career Vissing made his British league debut for Stoke Potters in the 2007 Premier League speedway season before joining Peterborough Panthers for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. In 2010, he rode in the top tier of British Speedway, riding for Ipswich Witches during the 2010 Elite League speedway season. The following season in 2011, he signed for Birmingham Brummies but soon moved on to Somerset Rebels for 2012. He then spent three years in Scotland with Edinburgh Monarchs and Berwick Bandits respectively. In 2016, he joined Workington Comets and then rode again for Berwick in 2017. He was a member of the Swindon Robins team in the SGB Premiership 2019 that won the league and Knockout cup double. He also had two solid seasons in the Championship, helping Glasgow Tigers to two second place finishes in 2018 and 2019. Esbjerg Speedway Klub
Esbjerg Speedway Klub or Esbjerg Vikings (part of Esbjerg Motosport) is a speedway club from Esbjerg in Denmark, who compete in the Danish Speedway League. The team have won the Danish Speedway League title on 10 occasions in 1967, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1980, 1981, 1984, 2012, 2013. Track The club's home venue is the Granly Speedway Arena, which is located about 16 kilometres in a easterly direction from the centre of Esbjerg, on Tinghedevej 9. History 1929 to 1966 Esbjerg Motorsport was founded in 1929 as the Esbjerg Automobile and Motorcycle Club. After World War II the club acquired moorland and built a track called the Korskro Motor Center, which opened on 7 July 1946. Knockout Cup (speedway)
Knockout Cup (sometimes referred to as the KO Cup) is a type of British motorcycle speedway competition, examples of which have run annually since 1929. Each tier of British Speedway has its own respective Knockout Cup. The current Knockout Cup competitions are the SGB Premiership Knockout Cup (tier one), the SGB Championship Knockout Cup (tier two) and the National League Knockout Cup (tier three). The cups have been run in the past under the associated name of the League at the time. SGB Championship 2023
The 2023 SGB Cab Direct Championship season will be the 76th season of the second tier of British Speedway and the 6th known as the SGB Championship. The British Speedway Network (BSN) would stream 35 matches live for the second year running. Summary Nine clubs will compete in the Championship in 2023, with Edinburgh Monarchs remaining in the league despite problems surrounding their home venue. The only change to the league is Leicester Lions, who left for the higher league of the SGB Premiership 2023. The league format will be the same as in 2022, with each team racing against each other twice (home and away), meaning a total of 16 fixtures each during the season. The points system has been revamped and simplified, with teams scoring two points for a win (home or away), with a bonus point scored for an aggregate win. SGB Championship 2022
The 2022 SGB Championship season is the 75th season of the second tier of British Speedway and the 5th known as the SGB Championship. Summary Eleven clubs competed in the Championship in 2022, with Oxford returning to the sport after a 15 year absence. The Eastbourne Eagles and the Kent Kings did not compete in the 2022 edition, with the Kings riding in the National Development League as The Royals, and Eastbourne not riding at all. Alongside the league and Knockout Cup, a new Summer competition was added in form of a group stage before a three team final at Sheffield. The tournament was called 'The Championship Jubilee League' which was eventually suspended until the 2023 season. However the additional fixtures created an issue due to the suspension of fixtures during the Death and state funeral of Elizabeth II and the heavy rain during October.
