Cláudio de Souza (born 19 May 1990), commonly known as Claudinho, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a centre-back for Ituano. Career Born in Santa Cruz do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Claudinho represented hometown side Santa Cruz-RS as a youth before making his senior debut with Avenida in the 2010 Campeonato Gaúcho. He moved to Cruzeiro-RS later in that year, and subsequently had loan spells at Metropolitano and two stints at Juventude. In 2015, Claudinho moved to Ypiranga-RS, but started the 2016 season at São José-RS. On 29 April of that year, however, he returned to Ypiranga on loan. On 8 December 2017, after being a starter back at São José, Claudinho signed a permanent contract with Ypiranga, being immediately loaned back to his first club Avenida for the 2018 ''Gauchão''. Santa Cruz Do Sul
Santa Cruz do Sul () is a city in central Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The city has an estimate 131,000 inhabitants as of 2020 and sits about 150 km (93 miles) from the capital city of the state, Porto Alegre. The Campeonato da Região Serrana, commonly known as the Copa Serrana, is an annual competition organized by the Rio Grande do Sul state football federation for clubs that are in the first, second and third divisions of the Campeonato Gaúcho and are located in the mountainous region and northern of the state. It is held in the second half of the year and usually clubs participating in the higher levels of the Campeonato Brasileiro do not participate with the first team squad, using his academy. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs.
