Claude Tayag
Claudio Suarez Tayag (born 7 August 1956), more popularly known as Claude Tayag, is a Filipino artist, restaurateur and food writer. He is best known for depicting scenes of impressionistic landscapes and scenes of Philippine folk festivals and religious imagery in his art. In recent years, he has written and been involved with Philippine gastronomy both as renowned chef and as food writer with his weekly column, ''Turo-Turo'' (Filipino for pinpoint) on ''The Philippine Star''. A scion of the Tayag family of Pampanga, he is the son of author and journalist, Renato D. Tayag. Moriones Festival
The Moriones is a lenten festival held annually on Holy Week on the island of Marinduque, Philippines. The "Moriones" are men and women in costumes and masks replicating the garb of biblical Imperial Roman soldiers as interpreted by locals. The Moriones tradition has inspired the creation of other festivals in the Philippines where cultural practices is turned into street festivals. It is a colorful festival celebrated on the island of Marinduque in the Philippines. The participants use ''morion'' masks to depict the Roman soldiers and Syrian mercenaries within the story of the Passion of the Christ. The mask was named after the 16th and 17th century Morion helmet. The Moriones refers to the masked and costumed penitents who march around the town for seven days searching for Longinus. Abdulmari Imao
Abdulmari Asia Imao (January 14, 1936 – December 16, 2014) was a Filipino painter and sculptor. Imao was named National Artist of the Philippines for Visual Arts in 2006.
