Claude Patry
Claude Patry (born January 10, 1953) is a former Canadian Member of Parliament for the riding of Jonquière—Alma, who served a single term from 2011 Canadian federal election until 2015. He was elected as a member of the New Democratic Party, but crossed over to the Bloc Québécois on February 28, 2013. He defeated incumbent MP Jean-Pierre Blackburn of the Conservative Party, who was Veterans Affairs Minister. Patry was president of the ''Syndicat national des employés de l'aluminium d'Arvida'', the union representing Rio Tinto Alcan workers in the riding. Following his defection to the Bloc in 2013, Patry stated that "he voted for sovereignty in the 1980 and 1995 referendums and that he still hopes Quebec will one day become a country". Jonquière—Alma
Jonquière—Alma was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 2004 to 2011. It was created in 2003 from parts of Jonquière and Lac-Saint-Jean—Saguenay ridings. It consists of: *the borough of Jonquière in the City of Saguenay, *the City of Alma in the Regional County Municipality of Lac-Saint-Jean-Est, and *the municipalities of Bégin, Larouche, Saint-Ambroise, Saint-Charles-de-Bourget and Saint-David-de-Falardeau in the Regional County Municipality of Le Fjord-du-Saguenay. Mario A. Beaulieu (; born February 1, 1959) is a Canadian politician. Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (, ) is a region in Quebec, Canada. It contains the Saguenay Fjord, the estuary of the Saguenay River, stretching through much of the region. It is also known as Sagamie in French, from the first part of "Saguenay" and the last part of "Piekouagami", the Innu name (meaning "flat lake") for Lac Saint-Jean, with the final "e" added to follow the model of other existing region names such as Mauricie, Témiscamie, Jamésie, and Matawinie. La Meute
La Meute (French for "The Pack") is a Québécois nationalist pressure group and identitarian movement fighting against illegal immigration and radical Islam. The group was founded in September 2015 in Quebec by two former Canadian Armed Forces members, Éric Venne and Patrick Beaudry. Neither are members of the group anymore. In 2018 the goal of La Meute was to prevent the Quebec Liberal Party from winning the 2018 Quebec general election (Which the Liberal party did lose). La Meute does not plan to become a political party, but rather "to become large enough and organized enough to constitute a force that can't be ignored". Louis Plamondon
Louis Plamondon (born July 31, 1943) is a Canadian politician who has represented Bécancour—Nicolet—Saurel (formerly known as Bas-Richelieu—Nicolet—Bécancour and Richelieu) in the House of Commons since 1984, making him the Dean of the House, the longest-serving current member of the House of Commons. Plamondon has won his seat in twelve consecutive federal elections, winning twice as a Progressive Conservative before becoming a founding member of the Bloc Québécois in 1990, after which he has been reelected ten more times. Jean-François Fortin (born September 12, 1973) is a Canadian politician. He was elected to represent the riding of Haute-Gaspésie—La Mitis—Matane—Matapédia in the 2011 federal election as a member of the Bloc Québécois, and was chosen interim parliamentary leader of the Bloc on February 26, 2014. On August 12, 2014, Fortin quit the party to sit as an independent, saying that the Bloc Québécois he had joined no longer exists and that new party leader Mario Beaulieu had destroyed its credibility.
