Claude Legault
Claude Legault (born May 26, 1963) is a Canadian actor and television writer from Quebec. Biography Legault was a star (2000-2003) of the Ligue Nationale d'Improvisation and has since appeared regularly on television, stage and film. He was part of the cast of the T.V. series ''450 chemin du Golf'' and '' Annie et ses Hommes'' and of ''Le retour''. He also plays in ''Minuit, le soir'' and '' Dans une galaxie près de chez vous'', two series that he developed and wrote with his old partner in crime Pierre-Yves Bernard. Together, they also wrote the movie '' Dans une galaxie près de chez vous'', in which he portrays Flavien Bouchard. Moreover, Legault was co author of ''Le monde selon Dieu'', in which he played at Espace GO and at the Vieux-Clocher in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Genie Award
The Genie Awards were given out annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to recognize the best of Canadian cinema from 1980–2012. They succeeded the Canadian Film Awards (1949–1978; also known as the "Etrog Awards," for sculptor Sorel Etrog, who designed the statuette). Genie Award candidates were selected from submissions made by the owners of Canadian films or their representatives, based on the criteria laid out in the ''Genie Rules and Regulations'' booklet which is distributed to Academy members and industry members. Peer-group juries, assembled from volunteer members of the Academy, meet to screen the submissions and select a group of nominees. Academy members then vote on these nominations. ''La petite vie'' was first a stage sketch of the comedy duo Ding et Dong, formed by Claude Meunier and Serge Thériault, and later a hit Quebec television sitcom aired by Radio-Canada from 1993 to 1999. In total, 59 episodes were created plus 3 specials, two for Christmas and one for New Year's 2000. ''Watatatow'' was a Canadian French-language children/youth television series, that aired from 1991 to 2005 on Radio-Canada. The first show aired on September 17, 1991. 104 half-hour episodes were filmed every year; they were shown four afternoons a week on Radio-Canada. ''Watatatow'' helped launch the careers of several young actors, including Hugo St-Cyr, Michel Goyette, Élise Aussant, Serge Postigo, Robert Brouillette, Suzanne Clément, Isabelle Guérard, Fabien Cloutier, Cas Anvar and Annie Cotton. Québec Cinéma presents an annual award for Best Supporting Actor (french: Prix Iris de la meilleure interprétation masculin dans un rôle de soutien) to recognize the best in the Cinema of Quebec.
