Clarrie Robertson
Clarence Gordon Robertson (9 April 1902 – 31 October 1974) was an Australian politician and a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly between 1942 and 1950 and again between 1953 and 1959. He was a member of the Labor Party. Early life Robertson was born at Dubbo, New South Wales and was the son of a butcher. He was educated to elementary level in Dubbo and, from the age of 14, worked as a rural labourer. He was employed by the New South Wales Government Railways in the mid-west of New south Wales between 1924 and 1942. State Parliament Robertson was the endorsed Labor candidate for the seat of Dubbo at the 1941 election. Despite a resurgence in rural support for Labor at the election, Robertson was defeated by the incumbent Country Party member George Wilson by 159 votes. Electoral District Of Dubbo
Dubbo is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Dugald Saunders of the National Party. Dubbo is a regional electorate covering three local government areas, including all of Dubbo Regional Council, Narromine Shire, and the majority of Mid-Western Regional Council. Its major population centres are Dubbo, Narromine, Wellington and Mudgee. History It was first created in 1894, abolished in 1904, and then recreated in 1930. 1962 New South Wales State Election
The 1962 New South Wales state election was held on 3 March 1962. It was conducted in single member constituencies with compulsory preferential voting and was held on boundaries created at a 1961 redistribution. The election was for all of the 94 seats in the Legislative Assembly. Redistribution A redistribution of electoral boundaries was undertaken in 1961 based on that year's Australian Census. The redistribution reflected the continuing relative population shifts from the Country and Eastern suburbs of Sydney to Western Sydney and the Central Coast. Les Ford
Leslie Hunter Ford (19 January 1917 – 17 December 1964) was an Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1959 to 1964, representing the electorate of Dubbo. Ford was born in Molong, and educated at Orange Public School and Orange High School. He worked on his father's grazing property at Amaroo until his father's death, whereafter he took over the property. He subsequently became a successful businessman, owning a machinery franchise, a car dealership, a number of butcher shops, and a range of pastoral property in the Dubbo area. He was an alderman on the City of Dubbo council from 1947 to 1964, serving as mayor from 1950. In 1956 Ford was appointed as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. The Liberal Party of Australia (New South Wales Division), commonly known as the New South Wales Liberals, is the state division of the Liberal Party of Australia in New South Wales. Lachlan was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. During the first two Parliaments (1856–1859), there was an electorate in the same area called Lachlan and Lower Darling, named after the Lachlan and Darling Rivers.
