Admiral Clarey Bridge
Admiral Clarey Bridge, also known as the Ford Island Bridge, is a road bridge that connects Ford Island in Pearl Harbor to the mainland of Oahu, the third-largest island of Hawaii. A section of it is supported by pontoons, and can be moved to allow vessels to pass through. This floating moveable span is the largest in the world. The bridge is used by military families housed on Ford Island and by tour buses serving the island's historic sites. The bridge replaced an hourly ferry service operated by the U.S. Navy. Its namesake, Admiral Bernard A. Clarey, was one of the Navy's most decorated officers. History Before the bridge was built, access to Ford Island was provided by ferryboats. Two diesel-powered ferries served the island, ''Waa Hele Honoa'' (YFB-83) and ''Moko Holo Hele'' (YFB-87). Percy Clarey
Percy James Clarey (20 January 189017 May 1960) was an Australian trade union leader and politician. He served as president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) from 1943 to 1949 and represented the Australian Labor Party (ALP) in the Victorian Legislative Council (1937−1949) and Australian House of Representatives (1949−1960). Early life Clarey was born at Bairnsdale, Victoria, the fifth child of general agent Francis William Clarey and Jessie Littlejohn Clarey, née Lawson. The family soon moved to Melbourne, Victoria, Melbourne, and Percy attended South Yarra State School and the Working Men's College. In his youth, Clarey was crippled by rheumatoid arthritis, and walked with crutches for the rest of his life. Doug Clarey
Doug Clarey (born April 20, 1954) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played one season in Major League Baseball (MLB), appearing in nine games for the 1976 St. Louis Cardinals. Listed at and , he batted and threw right-handed. Biography Clarey played high school baseball at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. He was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the sixth round of the 1972 MLB draft. He then played for Twins' farm teams during the 1972 to 1974 seasons. In December 1974, the St. Louis Cardinals selected Clarey from the Twins in the Rule 5 draft. During the 1975 season, Clarey played for the Arkansas Travelers at the Double-A level, batting .206 with three home runs and 44 RBIs in 130 games. Alec Clarey
Alec Clarey (born 8 February 1994) is an English rugby union player who plays for Saracens in the RFU Championship. After graduating from Barnard Castle School, he moved to Hartpury College on a scholarship whilst previously represented England Students, where he helped Hartpury win the National League 1 Championship during the 2016-17 season, thus promoted to the RFU Championship next season. He was also a part of Bristol academy system, where he was featured in their Aviva 'A' League competition, whilst playing for Hartpury. On 27 April 2017, Clarey signed his first professional contract with Jersey Reds to stay in the RFU Championship from the 2017-18 season.
