Clarendon County, New South Wales
Clarendon County is one of the 141 Cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It contains the towns of Gundagai, New South Wales, Gundagai, Junee, New South Wales, Junee and Bethungra, New South Wales, Bethungra. The Murrumbidgee River is the boundary to the south. Clarendon County was named in honour of George William Frederick Villiers, 4th Earl Clarendon (1800-1870). Gobbagombalin, New South Wales
Gobbagombalin is a predominantly farming community in the central east part of the Riverina and a suburb of Wagga Wagga. A portion of Gobbagombalin adjacent to the suburb of Estella and to the North of Old Narrandera Road was rezoned for residential purposes under the Wagga Wagga Local Environmental Plan 2010 in July 2010, with suburban development of area commencing in 2013. The suburban part of Gobbagombalin is being marketed under various names including Estella Rise and Estella Heights, as well as Gobbagombalin, despite Estella being a separate locality further to the east of Gobbagombalin. Eurongilly, New South Wales
Eurongilly is a locality in the central part of the Riverina and situated about 19 kilometres north west of Nangus and 21 kilometres south east of Junee. Clarendon Post Office was opened on 1 January 1866, and was renamed Eurongilly in 1886. Despite its tiny stature, (there are no buildings in Eurongilly other than the Hall (see image) and the Bush Fire Brigade shed) the area proudly remembers those that served on the commemorative gate posts of the RJ Cooper ( DFC) park, which was provided by Cooper's parents after he was killed in action over Derna, Libya in 1941, whilst enlisted in the RAF during World War II.
