Clara Pinto-Correia (born 30 January 1960) is a Portuguese-born novelist, journalist and educator. Career The daughter of a physician, she was born in Lisbon Lisbon (; pt, Lisboa ) is the capital and largest city of Portugal, with an estimated population of 544,851 within its administrative limits in an area of 100.05 km2. She was an adjunct professor in Veterinary and Animal Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She wrote a weekly column for the Portuguese newspaper '' Diário de Notícias''. In 1984, she published her first novel ''Watercress'' (''Agrião''), followed by ''Goodbye Princess'' (''Adeus, Princesa'') in 1985. ''Adeus, Princesa'' was made into a movie in 1992.
