Clancy Seymour
Clancy Seymour (born June 19, 1972) is a former Canadian ice hockey coach and player at the college level. He is currently an instructor at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Ice Hockey Career Clancy Seymour joined Canisius for the 1993 season while the Golden Griffins were still a Division III team. He spent three years playing for the team before graduating with a degree in physical education in 1996. After also receiving his master's from Canisius Seymour returned to the hockey team as an assistant under his former coach Brian Cavanaugh. Clancy was with the Griffins during their transition from the MAAC to Atlantic Hockey in 2003 but was pressed into service as an interim head coach when a player revolt forced Cavanaugh out in December 2004. Seymour remained behind the bench for the duration of the campaign but was himself reprimanded for lack of control over his players. Canisius Golden Griffins Men's Ice Hockey
The Canisius Golden Griffins men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Canisius College. The Golden Griffins are a member of Atlantic Hockey. They play at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo, New York across the street from KeyBank Center, home of the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. Canisius won an automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship after winning the Atlantic Hockey title in the conference playoffs, but lost in the first round to top-ranked Quinnipiac. Atlantic Hockey
The Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) is an NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey conference which operates primarily in the northeastern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as an ice hockey-only conference. Unlike several other college athletic conferences, Atlantic Hockey has no women's division, though it shares some organizational and administrative roles (and two universities) with the women's-only College Hockey America. It was formed in 1997 and began play in the 1998–1999 season as the hockey division of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Within three years, it was granted an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. However, in 2003, Iona and Fairfield dropped hockey, leaving Canisius as the only full MAAC member that sponsored hockey. An athletic director (commonly "athletics director" or "AD") is an administrator at many American clubs or institutions, such as colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, who oversees the work of coaches and related staff involved in athletic programs. David Smith (born November 21, 1968) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the NCAA RPI Engineers men's ice hockey team, a position he has held since the 2017–18 season. Smith was a member of the 1992–93 Turner Cup champions, the Fort Wayne Komets.
