Clancy Oliver
Clarence H. Oliver (born November 17, 1947) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at San Diego State. In the NFL, he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1969 to 1970 and the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973. Early life and college career Born in Bakersfield, California, Oliver graduated from Laguna Beach High School in Laguna Beach, California. In high school, Oliver made an 89-yard fumble return in 1964 for a record that would only be broken in 2011. Oliver began his college football career at Orange Coast College, a junior college in Costa Mesa, California. Oliver transferred to San Diego State College (now University), where he played for the San Diego State Aztecs in 1967 and 1968. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Josh Oliver (born March 21, 1997) is an American football tight end for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at San Jose State. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. World Football League
The World Football League (WFL) was an American football league that played one full season in 1974 and most of its second in 1975. Although the league's proclaimed ambition was to bring American football onto a worldwide stage, the farthest the WFL reached was placing a team – the Hawaiians – in Honolulu, Hawaii. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two Halfback (Canadian football), defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. 1970 Pittsburgh Steelers Season
The 1970 Pittsburgh Steelers season was the franchise's 38th in the National Football League. They improved from a league-worst 1–13 record the previous year, finishing with a 5–9 record and third place in the newly formed AFC Central. The Steelers began the decade in a new conference and a new stadium with a new quarterback. After nearly 40 years in the NFL they shifted to the AFC, to complete the merger between the NFL and AFL. The 1969 Pittsburgh Steelers season was the franchise's 37th in the National Football League. It would mark a turning point of the Steelers franchise. 1969 was the first season for Hall of Fame head coach Chuck Noll, the first season for defensive lineman "Mean Joe" Greene and L. C. Greenwood, the first season for longtime Steelers public relations director Joe Gordon, and the team's last season in Pitt Stadium before moving into then-state-of-the-art Three Rivers Stadium the following season.
