Clallam Bay Corrections Center
Clallam Bay Corrections Center is situated on the Olympic Peninsula in Clallam County, two miles (3.2 km) south of the community of Clallam Bay, Washington. CBCC opened as a medium-custody 450-bed facility in 1985 and converted to a Close Custody facility in 1991. In 1992, it expanded to house an additional 400 medium-custody inmates. Today, the facility can house 900 inmates. The facility provides medium-, maximum-, and close-custody housing for inmates who are serving sentences for crimes committed in Washington State. Currently, 68.4% of Clallam Bay's offenders were convicted of violent offenses, with an average age of 32.1 years old. There are 400 full-time professional correctional employees at Clallam Bay. Five correctional industries staff members manage the on-site garment industry. Clallam Bay, Washington
Clallam Bay is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Clallam County, Washington, United States, at the mouth of the Clallam River into Clallam Bay. Known for its natural environment and hunting, Clallam Bay is partially reliant on tourism. Clallam Bay is considered the twin city of nearby Sekiu. As of the 2010 census, the population of Clallam Bay was 363. History Clallam Bay was founded in the 1880s as a steamboat stop. It became a mill town in 1890. Two years later, the mill burned, and making barrels for West Clallam Bay's tanning extract became its main industry. In 1905, the lighthouse at Slip Point was lighted on April Fool's Day. Bellevue Murders
The Bellevue murders, or the Bellevue massacre, occurred on the night of January 3, and the early morning of January 4, 1997, when Alex Kevin Baranyi and David Carpenter Anderson, both 17, lured Kimberly Ann Wilson, 20, to a park in Bellevue, Washington, US, and murdered her. Afterwards, they entered her family home and murdered her father Bill Wilson, his wife Rose Wilson, and their other daughter, Julia Wilson. Both Baranyi and Anderson were convicted and sentenced to serve four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. Tacoma Mall Shooting
The Tacoma Mall shooting was a mass shooting and attempted mass murder that occurred on November 20, 2005, at the Tacoma Mall in Tacoma, Washington, United States. The gunman, Dominick Maldonado, entered the mall with a semi-automatic Norinco MAK-90 rifle and a pistol, injuring six before he instigated four armed kidnappings. The Frontier Middle School shooting was a school shooting that occurred on February 2, 1996, at Frontier Middle School in Moses Lake, Washington, United States. Paul Kenneth Keller (born January 6, 1966) is a serial arsonist and convicted murderer from Lynnwood, Washington. He is serving 107 years in prison and will be eligible for parole in 2079. He was convicted of setting over 107 fires and admitted to setting over 76 of them. The fires killed at least three people and caused more than $30 million in property damage during a six-month period during 1992–1993.
