''Claire Dolan'' is a 1998 American-French drama film directed by Lodge Kerrigan and starring Katrin Cartlidge, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Colm Meaney. It premiered at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival and was given a limited release in the United States on February 25, 2000. The film received nominations for three Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Feature for producer Ann Ruark, Best Director for Kerrigan, and Best Female Lead for Cartlidge. Plot Claire Dolan is an Irish immigrant in America and a sex worker. She does not enjoy the profession at all, but owes her pimp money and must continue to work. Lodge Hunt Kerrigan (born March 23, 1964) is an American motion picture screenwriter and director. His 2010 film ''Rebecca H. (Return to the Dogs)'' entered into the Un Certain Regard section of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. Along with Amy Seimetz, Kerrigan is the creator/director of Starz' The Girlfriend Experience (TV series), TV adaptation of Steven Soderbergh's ''The Girlfriend Experience''. Kerrigan earned his B.A. from Columbia University in 1985. Procuring or pandering is the facilitation or provision of a prostitute or other sex worker in the arrangement of a sex act with a customer. A procurer, colloquially called a pimp (if male) or a madam (if female, though the term pimp has still extensively been used for female procurers as well) or a brothel keeper, is an agent for prostitutes who collects part of their earnings. Stephen Holden (born July 18, 1941) is an American writer, poet, and music and film critic. Biography Holden earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Yale University in 1963. He worked as a photo editor, staff writer, and eventually became an A&R executive for RCA Records before turning to writing pop music reviews and related articles for ''Rolling Stone'' magazine, ''Blender'', ''The Village Voice'', ''The Atlantic'', and '' Vanity Fair'', among other publications. He first achieved prominence with his 1970s ''Rolling Stone'' work, where he tended to cover singer-songwriter and traditional pop artists.
