Claire Butorac
Claire Butorac (born September 24, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey forward for PWHL Minnesota of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Minnesota State. Early life Butorac played soccer while growing up. She attended Andover High School in Andover, Minnesota where she was a four-time letter winner in ice hockey and three-time letter winner in lacrosse. She was named a Minnesota Ms. Hockey Award semifinalist in 2018. College career Butroac began her collegiate career for Minnesota State during the 2018–19 season. During her freshman year, she appeared in all 35 games and recorded two goals and three assists. During the 2019–20 season in her sophomore year, she appeared in all 37 games and recorded eight goals and four assists. The 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season began in September 2021 and ended with the 2022 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game at Pegula Ice Arena in State College, Pennsylvania on March 20, 2022. Kelly Pannek
Kelly Pannek (born December 29, 1995) is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Minnesota of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She previously played in the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association. Career In high school, she set the state record for the quickest natural hat trick, scoring three goals in 22 seconds in a 2012 game. Across 157 games for the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey, University of Minnesota in the NCAA, Pannek put up 186 points. In 2017, she was a Patty Kazmaier Award Finalist after scoring 62 points in 39 games and winning the national championship for the second year in a row. Kendall Coyne Schofield
Kendall Coyne Schofield (born May 25, 1992) is an Americans, American professional ice hockey player who is currently a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. With the national team, she has won six gold medals at the IIHF World Women's Championships and the gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. In 2016, she was the winner of the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. In January 2017, Coyne was recognized as the recipient of the NCAA Today's Top 10 Award. In ice hockey, a line is a group of forwards that play in a group, or "shift", during a game. A complete forward line consists of a left wing, a center, and a right wing, while a pair of defensemen who play together are called "partners." Typically, an NHL team dresses twelve forwards along four lines and three pairs of defensemen, though some teams elect to dress a seventh defenseman, or a thirteenth forward. Taylor Heise (born March 17, 2000) is an American women's ice hockey forward for Minnesota and member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2022. Early life Heise attended Red Wing High School where she was a four-time USA Today American Family Insurance All-USA honoree. As a senior in 2018, she recorded 58 goals and 25 assists in 24 games. Following an outstanding season, she named the 2018 USA Today High School Sports All-USA Girls Hockey Player of the Year and won the Minnesota Ms. Hockey Award. 2023–24 PWHL Season
The 2023–24 PWHL season was the first season of operation of the Professional Women's Hockey League, and began play on January 1, 2024. Six teams competed during the inaugural season, located in Montreal, Toronto, New York, Boston, Ottawa, and Minneapolis–Saint Paul. The season culminated in a two-round best-of-five playoff including the top four teams to determine the season champion. PWHL Toronto topped the regular season standings with 17 wins and 47 points.
