Cityplaza One 2009
Cityplaza () is an office and shopping development, developed by Swire Properties, at 18 Taikoo Shing Road, Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong. It is adjacent to Taikoo Place, another office complex developed by Swire. The six-level shopping centre, connected to Tai Koo station, houses more than 170 shops, restaurants, a cinema and an indoor ice rink. In 2018, Swire Properties sold two of the office towers, previously Cityplaza 3 and 4, to Hengli Group and real estate investors Gaw Capital Partners. Two years later, Gaw Capital partnered with Schroder Pamfleet to buying the remaining office tower linked to the mall, Cityplaza 1. History and development Phase I Cityplaza was completed in 1982. As there was still no MTR connection at the time, double decker buses were used as a free shuttle service when the Island Eastern Corridor expressway was finished in 1984. Taikoo Shing
Taikoo Shing or Tai Koo Shing (), is a private residential development in Quarry Bay, in the eastern part of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It is a part of Swire's property business, along with Taikoo Place, the adjacent Cityplaza retail and office complex and EAST, a lifestyle business hotel. Etymology Taikoo is the Cantonese pronunciation of Swire's Chinese name, while Shing can be literally translated as City. Thus, Taikoo Shing can be loosely translated as Swire City. According to Swire, its Chinese name Taikoo was chosen by Thomas Taylor Meadow, the British Consul in Shanghai when Swire's Shanghai office opened in 1866. Quarry Bay
Quarry Bay is an area beneath Mount Parker in the Eastern District of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. The western portion of the area was also formerly known as Lai Chi (). Traditionally an industrial and residential area, the number of commercial buildings in this district has increased since the 1990s. One Island East is a skyscraper in Taikoo Place, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Overview The skyscraper is a commercial office building, rising 298.35 m (979 ft) and has 69 storeys plus two levels of basement. There is a sky lobby on the 37th and 38th floors. In addition, there are 28 high-speed passenger lifts, six high-speed shuttle lifts between Main (G - 1/F) and Sky (37 - 38/F) lobbies, one passenger lift between the main lobby and basement carpark and two service lifts.
