Citizen Way
Citizen Way, formerly known as The Least of These, is a contemporary Christian music and Christian rock band from Elgin, Illinois. Ben Blascoe retired from the band in 2015. The band relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 2016 and Josh Calhoun left after that time. In December 2019, Daniel Olsson and David Blascoe posted on social media that they were departing the group as well. Background Citizen Way is from Elgin, Illinois, founded by two sets of brothers Ben Blascoe on bass guitar, David Blascoe on drums, Ben Calhoun on vocals and guitar and Josh Calhoun on guitars, keys and vocals. Their original band name was The Least of These, when they were at Judson University together. This band has been together since 2004. They relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 2016. ''Love Is the Evidence'' is the first studio album by American Christian rock band Citizen Way, which was released on April 26, 2013, by Fair Trade Services, and the producers on the album were Seth Mosley and Citizen Way. Reception Critical ''Love Is the Evidence'' has received almost universal acclaim from the music critics. Louder Than the Music's Dave Wood found the release to be "modern and relevant sounding, with stunning moments of brilliant inspiration", which "their pop approach to worship is refreshing and entertaining". Elgin, Illinois
Elgin ( ) is a city in Cook and Kane counties in the northern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. Elgin is located northwest of Chicago, along the Fox River. As of the 2020 Census, the city had a population of 114,797, the seventh-largest city in Illinois. MercyMe is an American contemporary Christian music band founded in Edmond, Oklahoma. The band consists of lead vocalist Bart Millard, percussionist Robby Shaffer, bassist Nathan Cochran and guitarists Michael Scheuchzer and Barry Graul. The band formed in 1994 and released six independent albums before signing with INO Records in 2001. Bart Millard
Bart Marshall Millard (born December 1, 1972) is an American singer and songwriter who is best known as the leader of the band MercyMe. He has also released two solo albums: '' Hymned, No. 1'', in 2005 and '' Hymned Again'' in 2008. He received a solo Grammy nomination in the category of Best Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Gospel Album for the latter album. Band career In high school, Millard wanted to become a football player, a dream which ended when he injured both ankles at a high school football game. As a result, Millard took choir as an elective. Millard's father, Arthur Wesley Millard Jr., died in 1991, during Bart's first year of college, and his youth pastor invited him to work with the church's youth group worship band.
